3D策略页游《铁腕:掠夺者》封闭测试截图曝光

经过了两年的制作开发,希腊游戏厂商ISOTX于日前发表了回合制战略游戏「IRON GRIP」系列的最新作品《Iron Grip: Marauders》。这款作品虽然采用网页游戏架构制作,但官方宣称将会提供令人惊艳的3D图形画面表现、单人模式与多人模式,并且将以「免费游玩」作为营运模式。

游戏设定在前作Iron Grip:Lords of Atelia和Iron Grip:Warlord故事的数年之后,超级强权们为了控制其他较小的国家,于是发动全面性的世界大战,使得整个世界都收到了战争的蹂躏。如同以往的Iron Grip系列一样,Marauders仍然包含丰富的战略要素,不过这一次,玩家要透过浏览器窗口,来进行战场上的运筹帷幄,包含军队与基地的规划,建立起自己的强大武力征服世界。不过这次玩家的主要敌人并不是以往的电脑AI,而是同样在线上的其他聪明玩家,这将会是极大的挑战。

"Non-Game" Firms Drive One-Third Of Unity's Business

Unity Technologies CEO David Helgason says that one-third of his company's business comes from licensees for Unity's 3D graphics technology that are not game development firms. Helgason's comments coincide with the release of a branded Gorillaz game built on the Unity engine to the iPhone app store.

In 2003 three talented and creative individuals came together in Copenhagen, Denmark based on a shared vision about making their own game engine, one that they felt would quite literally change the game. They began to make that vision a reality while living the life of starving up-and-coming developers, working long hours and late nights with the hope that they would one day be able to share their dream with the world. Roughly two years later they did that and Unity was officially born.

据Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli透露, 免费版的CryEngine 3将同样基于CryEngine的最新技术, 不同于mod模式的是, 不需要依附于已有游戏, 而是一个完整的独立平台. 具体技术细节和授权模式还不得而知. Cevat同时说明, "我们的模式将不同于Epic或Unity, 但我们正朝这个方向努力."
