对电脑性能的要求绝对的高!老电脑就不要观看实际效果了!

I wanted to try out the "shell" fur rendering technique. For those that dont know it is done by rendering multiple shells extruded from the bese mesh, each shell is pushed out along the vertex normals more and more creating a stack of geometry that when rendered with alpha from bottom to top will look like fur and in this case grass.

It requires SM3 and will probably run very slow unless your GPU was made within the last year. There are 20 shells with a rather expensive shader. I get a bit over 1000 fps (in editor) on a 8 month old card.

It was created with no programming using my shader editor and lightmapping tool.

With a highly optimized shader and varying lod levels I believe this could be used in a current gen game. This has actually been used in some older games like shadow of the colossus and a few games for gamecube like star fox, on a much lower quality of course.
